What does senior mean in Bradleys?

The term senior consultant is everywhere – in resumes, proposals, and project presentations. But what does it really mean? How can you recognize a true senior expert?

For us, a senior is not just about the number of years of experience or the length of technology lists. For us, it’s about the way they work.

1. A Senior Solves the Client’s Problems – Not Just Falling in Love with Their Own Solution

Our seniors don’t just create something cool. Instead, they first stop to understand the client’s reality. What is actually going wrong here? What is the business bottleneck? How does this affect the end user?

Technology is a tool, not the goal. A true senior has the skill and understanding to sometimes choose a simpler solution if it better serves the client.

2. A Senior Makes Team Around Better

A senior doesn’t hide their knowledge as a secret recipe but shares it constantly in their daily work. They mentor, coach, ask, and listen.

For example, when a junior is stuck, the senior doesn’t just give the answer but helps them understand why things work in a certain way. When a client needs direction, the senior can break down complex concepts into an understandable form.

This doesn’t mean constant training, but more that the environment around the senior fosters the flow of knowledge.

3. A Senior Brings Situational Leadership – Posture Without Bossing Around

Many projects face the same challenges: unclear goals, too many opinions, stuck decisions, lost rhythm.

A senior recognizes these moments. They don’t wait for someone higher up to intervene but take control of the situation: helping clarify goals, suggesting next steps, bringing focus back to what matters.

This doesn’t mean micromanaging or being a know-it-all. It means responsibility. The desire to ensure things progress and the team is doing well.

Bradleys’ seniors don’t shout that they are seniors. They show it in their daily work, fostering better collaboration, clarifying direction, and building expertise around them.

If you need someone like this for your team, or if you want to be that person, let’s talk.
